Science Fiction movies are one of the genres of films which have witnessed a lot of change in our present century. Though the concept of sci-fi films were here since the 1950s, the advent of technology and filmography techniques make today’s sci-fi films more realistic and resolute. You are led to believe in what is shown that something like that really exists in your world as well.

The lack of technology could not have made this type of cinematography possible for some of the great filmmakers(the pioneers who started the trend) to make sci-fi masterpieces of this caliber. Today with graphics, animations and other technological effects one can create a different planet, a more realistic space ship, or more horrifying man vs machine movies like Transformers. People have accepted the imagination and concepts of these movies readily, especially the young generation who fall in love with them.

The biggest technology leap in Sci-Fi movies came with the movie Independence Day directed by Roland Emmrich. He is the man behind 2012 also. The use of cutting-edge technology can be seen in movies like Titanic, the Jurassic Park series and others where animations and robotic movements of animals play a great role. Today, this technology can offer a more realistic and integrated feel to the movie experience.

The experience of sci-fi movies which can elaborately present you with visually with something fictitious with the feel of being so real. The use of technologies like the 24 frames-per- second rate, and digital animation and graphics increases the budget of these movies, as well as creating something for which people pay at the box office to get entertained. Sci-fi movies motivate people to think and feel something beyond their imagination, and technology enables a film maker to give life to his or her imagination as well.

Movie posters are created with the intention of advertising films. As the name suggests, horror movie posters are posters advertising horror movies. Horror movie posters have been around since the earliest public exhibitions of horror movies. They were used as placards listing the horror movies that were being shown in the theater. It was in the early 1900s, that horror movie posters began to feature illustrations of scenes from horror movies.

Nowadays, horror movie posters are issued in small print runs that are discarded when the film ends. However, previously, with large runs for most titles, horror movie posters were stored in production companies or advertising warehouses, with a few kept as souvenirs by theater owners. It was after the interest in pop art in the late 1960s that people started collecting horror movie posters as a hobby. Because they are rare, the supply is dwindling, and private collectors are willing to pay top dollar for collectables.

Horror movie posters come in different sizes and style that vary according to the country. In the United States, horror movie posters are found as inserts, three sheets, six sheets, one sheet and 22 inches by 28 inches sizes. The United Kingdom sizes are quad, double crown and three sheets. In Australia, most of the horror movie posters come in a size called daybill. Nowadays, you can make your own horror movie posters. You become the director and executive producer of your own super-blockbuster with the poster as proof. All you need is a photo from a digital camera and Flickr and a poster making software.

There are so many horror movies it’s impossible to count. Indeed, the horror movie genre is one of the most popular, generating a massive amount of new releases each year either in mainstream Hollywood cinema or in classic B-movie style. For those who enjoy horror movies it’s a great idea to decide exactly what kind of horror movie you like best. Whilst they can be broadly categorised by the terms “Hollywood” and “B-movie” this is rarely enough to account for the true horror movie connoisseur’s taste. Think about whether it’s suspense, gore, supernatural, sci-fi, zombie, psycho, thriller or any number of other sub-genre’s which you most enjoy.

Whilst these account for new releases, there are an incredible number of horror films already out. Most good movie stores will sell a large selection of titles in the genre, so go in and have a look at the different choices. This might provide further inspiration into the genre which you enjoy so much. The main way of discovering your horror movie preference is to simply watching as many as possible. You’ll quickly realise whether you enjoy watching zombie hordes lurch down the streets of deserted cities or if you prefer to see psychopathic madmen loiter in the dark stalking their pray from a distance.

The internet makes it easier than ever to find something which really takes your fancy. There are professional reviews and reader reviews available, as well as preview information about upcoming titles and even top-lists of the best ever horror movies. With so much information at your finger tips it shouldn’t be a problem to choose a horror movie. Of course, if you do want to look further, then try signing up to some forums on the internet or joining a local club for enthusiasts. These are great ways to find out more and meet new friends. You’ll quickly get a sense for what you like and be able to enjoy a quality horror film in no time.

With the horror movie genre being so popular you can find conventions and fan-gatherings occurring all the time, especially in big cities. You’ll meet many enthusiasts here who can offer you advice. The most important thing is to enjoy the film you watch and to make sure your friends enjoy it as much as you.
